Abstract

The protracted Aceh conflict reached the peace agreement through relatively short negotiations in 2005. The Crisis Management Initiative has played a role as a mediator and facilitator in encouraging negotiators from the Free Aceh Movement and the Government of Indonesia to resolve the conflict peacefully. This article aims to briefly explain the dynamics of conflict negotiations involving international third parties to generate a peace agreement that is considered comprehensive by many parties.
