Abstract

This research is aimed to know a criterion phenomenon between social groups and the level of social class in participating in the political party in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. The research used descriptive method and the collection of data was done through observation, interview and documentation, as well as distribution frequency and percentage analysis. The results of this research show that the political participation in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam has correlation with identification of social group in local community, particularly to the ethic and religion. The community from a certain ethnic who is motivated to take participation party in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam is rationally based on the particular values they possess.
