Abstract

The use of organic fertilizer needs to be balanced with the use of inorganic fertilizers, for optimal availability of nutrients and improve soil fertility. This study aims to determine the effect of kascing and compound fertilizer on soil chemical properties, P and K uptake as well as the yield of sweet corn. The study was conducted from November 2016 to January 2017 in the village of Paloh Punti, Muara Satu District, Lhokseumawe City of Aceh Province. Soil and crop analysis was conducted at the Soil Science Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture of Syiah Kuala University of Banda Aceh. The design used in this study was Randomized Block Design (RBD) of factorial pattern with two factors, each of three levels and three replications. The first factor was dosage of kascing fertilizer (K) ie, 0 t ha (K0), 3 t ha -1 (K1), and 6 t ha -1 (K2). While the second factor dose of compound fertilizer (M) that is, 0 kg ha -1 (M0), 100 kg ha -1 (M1) and 200 kg ha-1 (M2). Data analysis based on anova univariate with advanced test is Duncan Multiple Range Test at a = 5%. The results showed that of kascing had an pH (HO), P available and soil K-dd increased from 6.16 to 6.41, 6.46 ppm to 24.41 ppm and 0.60 cmol kg 2-1-1 to 1.33 cmol kg. The increase of soil K-dd has an effect on the increase of K plant uptake, which is increased from 0.99% to 1.31%. The interaction between dosage of kascing 6 t ha and compound fertilizer 100 kg ha -1 was the best to increase the weight of cobs weighing, and the weight of fresh sweet corn from 253.33 g to 376,67 g and 65,85 g to 195.30 g. Keywords: kascing, compound fertilizer, P available, K-dd and sweet corn
